Karla Rees, EA CFP®
After working 20 years in corporate accounting both private and public companies, Karla decided on a career change to personal financial planning.
She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Concentration in Accounting from San Jose State University. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and is also an Enrolled Agent, authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
Before joining the financial services industry, Karla was a corporate accountant at different companies, ranging from small tech companies to large distributors. She believes her experience in the accounting field has well prepared her for the transition into Personal Financial Planning. It particularly equipped her to work with equity compensation, benefits, payroll, retirement plans, and of course income taxes.
Karla enjoys working with people and helping clients with questions about their finances. She believes each question presents a new opportunity to research and collaborate with her colleagues and to determine helpful solutions.
In her free time, Karla enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Rob, and the newest addition to their family – an English Labrador. She also enjoys swimming, running, hiking, or reading a good novel.
